Save the Date: 26th of June!
The Smart Cities and Communities Stakeholder Platform is organizing the event “Creating better cities: update on Smart Cities Stakeholder Platform”, which will take place on the 26th June at the Liaison agency Flanders-Europe (Vleva) premises (Kortenberglaan 71), in Brussels.
Along the Conference, the strategy to be followed during the next three years by the Platform Management Team and the working groups will be presented. The mission is challenging: while we already have the EIP Strategic Implementation Plan, now it is time for action as well, providing full support to the European Commission on the further development of the EIP which will have just closed their first invitation for commitments.
Representatives of the European Commission will share with the audience the preliminary results of this call and their insight on the future contribution of the EIP to the deployment of smart cities in Europe.
In today’s rapidly changing world with ever more complex demands on our urban environment, the importance of “smart solutions” for the development of our cities is more important than ever. Part of setting the ground work for future activities in the Platform includes therefore elaborating on the challenges and needs that cities have to implement and realize smart solutions.
Along April and May the Management Team will be conducting a study to identify city and regions needs and expectations towards the Platform. Preliminary results will be discussed with city and regional authorities, solution providers and other stakeholders. The conclusions of the debates will be used as final input for the study; a solid starting point for the future activities of the Platform.
