Since 2019, participants from over 40 different countries and six continents have gathered in JPI Urban Europe knowledge hub events. It is now high time to register to JPI Urban Europe’s fifth Policy Conference to take place online on the 12th of November 2020.
Europe is working on an ambitious strategy to become the first climate-neutral continent. On the backdrop of the EU Green Deal and the renewing of the Urban Agenda for the EU, the aim is to ensure liveability, prosperity, and well-being for all.
To move from strategy to reality, though, experts and policy makers have to work hand in hand with neighbourhoods, towns, municipalities, cities and urban areas. Urban transformation is key!
The JPI Urban Europe is currently working with the European Commission on a longer-term programme called “Driving Urban Transitions to a Sustainable Future” (DUT). Most recently, JPI Urban Europe Chair of the Management Board, Margit Noll, spoke about the developments of DUT, the importance of the coming Leipzig Charter and European R&I policy making during the “Europe’s Cities Fit for Future” kick off.
You are invited to JPI Urban Europe’s policy conference on 12 November to help define the next steps of DUT, exchange on how to bring research into action on diverse urban topics- and boost urban transformations processes.
The conference will focus on how to make global strategies into local action by focusing on:
- How does sustainable urban development contribute to international policies?
- What are the next steps to ensure capacity-building and mobilisation of Research and Innovation in cities?
- How do we best enhance and support replication, mainstreaming and scaling up?
