Two Sides of a Coin II

The rumours you are hearing about SCIS and EIP-SCC joining forces to offer you the ultimate one-stop-shop for all your Smart City related questions and needs are true!

First things first, we will merge our two newsletters and give you one instead of two – a better and more comprehensive newsletter with the best of both worlds! This is the final EIP-SCC Marketplace Newsletter and at the end of July, our first SCIS & EIP-SCC joint newsletter will then be published.

Still, there is something to remember: As you have signed up for the EIP-SCC Marketplace Newsletter, we sure hope that you agree with the merger of the two newsletters (remember, there will be one email less in your pact inbox!). However, due to new General Data Protection Regulations, we have to get your active “okay” if we want to keep sending you our joint newsletter in the future. Therefore, if you do agree to receive the new and improved SCIS&EIP-SCC Explore, Shape and Deal Newsletter from now on, please click here.

It is clear that your data will only be used for the distribution / sending out of the SCIS&EIP-SCC Explore, Shape and Deal Newsletter. The owner of the data will be the EC and your data will not be passed onto any other organisations. If you want to get in touch with us directly, please click here. Further information concerning personal data processing, rights of subscribers, etc. can be found here. You are able to unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time. If you wish to do so, please use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the newsletter or send an email to:

EIP-SCC 2019 General Assembly, 16-17 May in Brussels, Belgium

The 2019 General Assembly was held on the 16-17 May in Brussels and continued the focus on moving to scale adoption of smart city solutions – towards the target of at least € 1 billion and involving 300 cities by the end of 2019.

The 2019 General Assembly brang the EIP-SCC community together, with the EU's Horizon 2020 ‘Lighthouse’ (SCC01) programmes, and other relevant EU-funded smart city initiatives.

The event continued the progressive support to the “Explore, Shape, Deal” discussions that were introduced in 2018, to help build a pipeline of bankable smart city solutions.

Challenging our “take-make-dispose” world

“Circular economy” is now a well-known term, but it’s meaning is still rather vague and often associated with rubbish – waste that is. Much of it is about waste, however not just rubbish.
