The EIP-SCC Manifesto on Citizen Engagement Keeps Growing

On 23rd November 2016, the EIP-SCC Manifesto on Citizen Engagement was successfully launched during the Conference Inclusive Smart Cities: A European Manifesto on Citizen Engagement, which attracted more than 100 people from European Institutions, companies, cities, etc. The purpose of the event was to discuss and analyse the key role played by citizens’ and how to include them in debates and policies related to smart cities.

Peter Staelens, from Eurocities and member of the EIP-SCC Initiative on New Mobility Services, works as a project manager for some mobility projects, such as OPTICITIES. “One of the achievements of the project was that the five partner cities developed a set of ITS services on the basis of common mobility data portal design and a standardised, open interface which can be adopted by other cities in Europe”, he said.
