Success - Sustainable Urban Consolidation CentrES for construction
Summary: The aim of SUCCESS project is to investigate to what extent and how the supply chain management and Construction Consolidation Centres (CCCs) concepts could bring about generic solutions (adequate collaborative framework and as result a sustainable business model) to address problems in the construction supply chains (distribution networks, construction sites and reverse logistics) aiming at lowering the costs and negative freight distribution impacts in city urban areas. Therefore, a collaborative work should be considered as an approach aiming at optimizing the entire supply chain and not an approach aiming at local cost optimization, isolating each supply chain actor. The main benefits of this approach are the reduction of direct logistics costs, as well as the indirect/external costs (pollution, congestion, road accidents).
