Simona Costa is a European Policy expert with a particular focus on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency field. She has gained more than 20 years’ experience in the multi-level European lobbying context in Brussels.
As an active member of the European Regions Research and Innovation Network (ERRIN) and the European Federation of Regional Energy and Environment Agencies (FEDARENE) on behalf of Regione Liguria Head Office in Brussels, She is a facilitator in involving local and regional stakeholders in the process to launch and promote new initiatives aiming at speeding up the deployment of low carbon innovations in cities.
Thanks to the activity and the established network in the CONCERTO plus initiative, in the Technology Platform for Mediterranean & Black Seas (PTMB) and in other relevant projects such as TEN T programme, she can provide support to the implementation of the SMART cities and communities initiatives by involving the participation of Member States representatives in Mediterranean and Black sea countries, including Ministries of Energy, Research, Environment, Economy and Transport.
Simona Costa supported the city of Genova to successfully participate to the first SMART city call for proposal in the 3 topics planning, RES heating and cooling, retrofitting.
